Doug Adamz is a seasoned songwriter who grew up in El Paso, lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for four decades then returned to his beloved Southwest home, now living in the mountains near Las Cruces. Adamz has recorded three albums of his songs and five of his internationally known instrumental compositions. Many ballet companies, including The Joffrey, have danced to his tunes. He’s composed for The Kronos Quartet and can be heard in a film by Robert Altman, a PBS documentary, and two Spanish television series. He’s performed with Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Joan Baez, Peter Rowan and Maria Muldaur and recorded with Huey Lewis. In a solo concert Adamz performs his songs accompanied by intricate finger-style guitar and harmonica and spiced with unexpected stories.
